Aetha supported Orange Romania in an auction for 3.5GHz and 3.7GHz spectrum including a review of proposed auction rules, regulatory lobbying, bid strategy development, provision of auction tools, running of mock auctions, advice on auction governance and logistics, and the provision of support during the auction.

Ahead of the auction, the proposed assignment round format proposed by the regulator meant Orange faced a high cost to retain its existing band position. We convinced the regulator to amend the rules to favour outcomes where existing holdings remained in place.

Thanks to the auction rule change, Orange’s price was close to reserve prices.
