Callum Farrow
Callum supports mobile operators on a wide range of strategic projects including spectrum valuation, auction strategy and support, and network sharing synergy analysis.
Callum has gained a wide range of experience in due diligence, spectrum valuation, international benchmarking, regulatory studies, cost-modelling and auction strategy and support. He has worked on projects for clients in North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific.
Callum’s most recent projects have been for clients in Europe and the Asia-Pacific, involving the development of network models for both spectrum valuation and network sharing synergy assessment purposes.
Prior to joining Aetha, Callum obtained an M.Sci from the University of Cambridge, specialising in Natural Sciences.
Examples of projects which illustrate the breadth of Callum’s experience include:
Consultation support on the proposed pricing mechanism for future spectrum licence renewals, including spectrum award benchmarking and sensitivity analysis on the pricing model
Valuation support to a leading fixed and mobile network operator ahead of a 700MHz and 800MHz spectrum auction from the perspectives of our client and its competitors
End-to-end support for a MNO facing a multi-band spectrum auction including new 5G spectrum and additional 4G spectrum (700MHz, 900MHz, 1500MHz, 2300MHz, 2600MHz, 3500MHz, 28GHz), including spectrum valuation, consultation support and bidding strategy
Assessment of potential network synergies and development of implementation strategy for a potential 5G network sharing arrangement between two operators
Assessment of potential network synergies resulting from the merger of two mobile operators – using a MOCN or a MORAN, sharing 5G only or 4G and 5G, with all other potential network sharing partners in the same region
Valuation of various possible spectrum trades for a client seeking to acquire spectrum from a potential merged entity of two competitors
Valuation support to a leading fixed and mobile network operator ahead of a 3.4-3.8GHz spectrum auction from the perspectives of our client and its competitors
End-to-end support for a MNO facing a multi-band spectrum auction in which most of its existing spectrum was to be re-allocated (800MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, 2100MHz, 2600MHz), including spectrum valuation, consultation support and bidding strategy
