Aetha undertook a detailed assessment of the synergies available from sharing the 5G layer (and, crucially, its rollout) between two MNOs in an APAC country.
We evaluated the capex and opex savings from the shared rollout, the revenue uplift from network sharing (i.e. faster rollout) and the net benefits, by forecasting the standalone and combined 5G network deployments on a city-by-city basis.
We then assessed the different commercial models (JV with cost recharge vs contractual arrangement with wholesale tariffs) that could be chosen and the implication for synergy realisation.
